SUKKUR: Attempt to occupy Wapda plot decried

SUKKUR, Feb 27: Office-bearers of Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union, Sukkur zone, have vowed that nobody would be allowed to occupy the Wapda/Hesco premises or its properties.

A meeting of union office-bearers of Sukkur zone, held here on Wednesday, alleged that a political leader, Mian Abdul Mannan Bharchundi, was trying to occupy a plot of Hesco/Wapda near Hesco colony in Daharki.

The meeting said that Mr Bharchundi has accumulated bricks and sands on the plot to build boundary wall.

The participants at the meeting vowed that they would not allow occupation of the plot come what may.

The office-bearers appealed to the President Pervez Musharraf, chairman Wapda, IG Police Sindh, DIG Police Sukkur and DCO Ghotki to take notice and stop Mr Bharchundi from occupying the government property.

They warned to stage protest and to switch off power supply throughout Sindh.

The meeting was presided over by the zonal chairman of the union Allah Dad Mashoori and attended by zonal secretary, Syed Zahid Hussain Shah besides Badar-ul-Islam, Lala Dhani Bux Pathan, Mazhar Ansari and office-bearers of sub division units of Sukkur and Rohri.
