HYDERABAD: Security for Eid-i-Milad reviewed
HYDERABAD, March 6: Police have been directed to make fool-proof security arrangement during Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebration by District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil during a meeting of Peace Committee held at the Secretariat.
He asked the police to identify and inspect procession routes and Mehfil-e-Milad venues and deploy contingents at these places with an assurance of patrol on roads and near places of religious gathering.
Complimenting district police on making outstanding security arrangement during Muharram, he persuaded similar measures to be put in place during Jashn-i-Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
Mr Jamil directed the EDO Health to set up emergency centre at all hospitals and ensure availability of doctors, paramedical staff, ambulances and medicines. He asked the TMOs to keep six fire brigades in serviceable condition.
He said development works on procession routes should be completed before 12th of Rabiul Awal and asked Wasa to ensure water supply and drain out accumulated water on roads in addition to covering manholes.
He said because of his personnel intervention Secretary Irrigation ordered release of fresh water downstream Kotri Barrage for two days and that people of Hyderabad and Hussainabad were getting fresh supply.
To resolve the problem on permanent basis, district government was laying water pipeline from the new filter plant to Latifabad at a cost of Rs120 million which will be completed next year, he said.
Leaders of various sects attending the meeting adopted unanimous resolution condemning publication of blasphemous cartoons by Danish print media and demanded of the government to take notice of it.
