KARACHI: Another research institute planned in KU

KARACHI, March 14: The construction of Centre for Bioequivalence Studies and Bioassay Research (CBSBR) at the Dr Panjwani Centre for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi, will be completed in 2010 at a cost of Rs249 million.

This was stated by the acting director of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), KU, Prof Dr Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, on Friday. He was presiding over a meeting held at the ICCBS to review the construction work of the project. Dr Iqbal said that the CBSBR would provide a high-tech facility for the evaluation of generic pharmaceutical products in the country.

He said that the project was initially being funded by the government of Pakistan and ultimately it would become a profit-earning organisation promoting research and academic activities in the country.

MA exam forms

The University of Karachi extended the date for the submission of examination forms for MA/double MA and improvement of division for external annual examination 2007. Students can now submit examination forms without any late fee from March 17 to 29. The examination forms can be obtained from NBP/UBL counters, Silver Jubilee Gate No 1 for Rs25.

Enrolment forms

The University of Karachi also notified that the enrolment forms and fee of MA from Defence Authority College for Women would be accepted with a late fee of Rs500 by March 22.—APP/PPI
