UK urges citizens to restrict travel

LONDON, March 16: The United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office has advised British citizens against travelling to areas in Pakistan where there are reports of military or militant activity.

The advisory issued on Sunday follows Saturday’s bomb attack on a restaurant in Islamabad in which a British diplomat was among those injured.

This advisory applies particularly to northern and western Balochistan, including the Sui, Dera Bugti and Kohlu areas; the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, including Waziristan; Swat and all border areas except for official crossing points. British citizens have also been advised against using the rail network across the country.

Travel to Quetta except for essential reasons has also been advised against, including using bus services in the whole of Balochistan because of the unsettled security situation.
