LARKANA: Traders in Larkana go on strike

LARKANA, March 18: Fruit and Vegetable Market Associ-ation after holding meeting with representatives of Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and traders’ federation on Tuesday announced of indefinitely shutting down trade activities from Wednesday in protest against police attitude.

According to reports police were clueless on the kidnapping of Fruit Commission Agent Jawed Qureshi. The trader was kidnapped two days ago while his son Jahanzeb was injured.

Jan Muhammed Jatoi, President Fruit and Vegetable Market Association told ‘Dawn’ that the DPO was given two days but he did not give any results forcing trade bodies to formulate strategy for fighting against the rising crime, he said.

He said deteriorating law and order had drastically affected trade activities. Police was unable to contain crime that in turn.—Correspondent
