MARDAN: Scuffle at PPP convention
MARDAN, March 22: Workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) scuffled with each other during party convention here on Saturday.
The convention was held at the Town Hall Mardan to evaluate performance of the workers during the Feb 18 elections in the district.
As the event started, president of the party in Takhtbai Aurangzeb Khan and some workers raised objection over the presence of district president of the People’s Youth Wing and provincial chairman Zardari Rehai Committee Syed Badshah and Rabnawaz Mohmand, respectively, and accused that they had supported PML-Q candidates during the elections. They also criticised some other workers and alleged that they conspired against party nominees and supported rival candidates during the polls. The blame game created the unpleasant situation in the hall.
Meanwhile, Divisional President People’s Student Federation (PSF) Israr Khan has demanded that ticket for the vacated seat NA-11 (Mardan-III) should be given to a party worker from Katlang.
