Port Qasim

KARACHI, April 7: Four ships, scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, edible oil and coal, were berthed at Qasim international container terminal, multipurpose terminal and IOCB terminal, respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers, fertilisers and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at 70 per cent at the port on Sunday where seven ships C.V. Sima Pars, Ataqa, Chemstar King, M.V. Ocean Morning, M.V. Skua, Advance Victoria and M.V. Lady Giovi are currently occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, edible oil, wheat, diesel oil and coal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation was carried out efficiently at the port where cargo volume of 50,733 tons comprising 47,785 tons import cargo and 2,948 tons export cargo inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 340 containers (TEUs) was handled during the last 24 hours.

Two ships M.V Advance Victoria and Sima Pars sailed out to sea on Monday. M.V. Ocean Morning is expected to sail on the same day.

Two ships Maersk Corolina and Nedlloyed Oceania are expected to take berths at QICT and M.V. Grigoroussa at Fotco terminal, respectively, on Monday.
