THATTA: PPP plans campaign against referendum
THATTA, April 22: The PPP, Thatta district, has formulated a strategy to counter the referendum campaign and motivate the masses to boycott it by not casting their votes on April 30.
The PPP, district president, Dr Abdul Wahid Soomro, while addressing a press conference at the Soomra Manzil, said that dozens of mass contact committees had been activated which would go door-to-door to motivate the general public against the unconstitutional referendum and wastage of millions of rupees from the national exchequer.
The committees were advising the people to express their opposition against the referendum on the polling day by practically keeping themselves away from the polling stations.
The party activists will observe hunger strike at all the nine Taluka headquarters of the district on the day.
He said the referendum rally in which thousands of law enforcement agency personnel, police and other employees participated under compulsion will be replayed on the referendum day also.
He appealed to the Nazims, Naib Nazims, and councillors not play into the hands of the vested interests.
