HYDERABAD: Sacked employees want reinstatement

HYDERABAD, April 30: Notwithstanding the orders of the federal government to reinstate the dismissed workers of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), the Managing Director of the company has refused to reinstate the sacked employees and at least 1000 employees were running from pillar to post to get their reinstatement orders.

This was stated by a delegation of the company’s employees which called on PPP MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur here on Wednesday.

Mr Talpur held out an assurance to the sacked employees that he will take up the matter with the Pakistan People’s Party high command.

He said only recently the federal minister for petroleum and natural resources had announced in Islamabad about the reinstatement of employees, but these orders could not be implemented.

The MNA pointed out that Sindh was contributing a huge quantity of gas and in fact the company needed more manpower.

The leader of the delegation, Mohammad Naseer, said that about 2,000 upper grade employees had already been reinstated under the orders of the superior judiciary and expressed the hope that justice would also be restored to other sacked employees.
