Rehman wants law and order maintained ‘at all costs’

ISLAMABAD, May 12: In view of an imminent resumption of the lawyers’ movement for reinstatement of the deposed judges following Pakistan Muslim League-N’s decision to pull out of the federal cabinet, the government has directed police and other security agencies to ensure peace and order at all costs.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the Prime Minister’s adviser on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik directed the heads of all security agencies and civil armed forces to remain in a state of high alert throughout the country.

Against the backdrop of a black day observed all over the country on Monday, the adviser appealed to all segments of the society to remain peaceful and not to take the law into their own hands.—Staff Reporter
