KOHAT: 12 Arabs deported to home countries

KOHAT, May 13: Twelve Arab prisoners, who were released on the orders of Peshawar High Court to be deported to their home countries, were seen off by the World Prisoners Relief Forum here on Tuesday.

The Arabs identified as Prince Abdul Kareem of Morocco and Prince Abdul Haq of Yemen left Kohat along with their families for Karachi to take flights to their respective countries.

World Prisoners Relief Forum chairman Javed Ibrahim Paracha told journalists on the occasion that the Arabs accompanied by a team of FIA would leave Pakistan on Tuesday night at 3:30am from Karachi airport through a direct flight to Yemen.

They were arrested under 14 Foreigners Act in 2003 at Torkhum border while fleeing Afghanistan. The Peshawar High Court had ordered their deportation last month after they spent four years with their families in the prison.— Correspondent
