HYDERABAD: JSSF denies involvement in student’s murder

HYDERABAD, May 16: Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) has categorically denied its direct or indirect involvement in the murder of Sindh University student Abdul Nabi Brohi on May 14.

Central Joint Secretary of the JSSF Amir Abbasi, Press Secretary Imran Soomro, and President of the SU Unit G.M. Khoso speaking at a news conference at the press club were of the unanimous view that Abdul Nabi Brohi was killed by his own comrades because of the internal skirmishes in the Sindh People’s Students Federation (SPSF).

The JSSF, they asserted was a stronger organisation and those who denied “Paigham-e-Sindh and Paigham-e-Latif” advocated by G.M. Syed always hatched conspiracies which was the reason the JSSF was victimised in institutions like Quaid-e-Awam University Nawabshah, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam and Sindh University Jamshoro. They said the government and heads of institutions were involved in injustices against the JSSF.

“The bickering within the leadership of varsity unit has taken the life of SPSF worker Abdul Nabi Brohi,” they said and regretted over the attitude of those pointing their fingers towards JSSF to tarnish its image.

A clash took place among leaders of the SPSF, Razzak Brohi, Amjad Zardari and Zahid Mugheri which claimed the life of Abdul Nabi Brohi, they alleged and indicated involvement of Students Welfare Officer Rafiq Brohi in the incident.

JSSF leaders to a query replied that neither any JSSF activist was nominated in the FIR nor anyone arrested.
