Call for reopening consulates

KARACHI, May 21: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has urged Pakistan and India to immediately reopen their consulates in Karachi and Mumbai to provide better visa facilities to the people of the two countries.

In a statement issued from London on Wednesday, Mr Hussain welcomed the visit of Indian Foreign Minister Parnab Mukhurjee and said it would help establish peace and promote friendly relations between the two countries.

This would also be in the interest of lasting peace in the region, he added. —Staff Reporter
