JUI-I vows to enforce Islamic laws

QUETTA, May 22: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Ideological) has vowed to continue its struggle for enforcement of Islamic laws in the country.

In a resolution passed at the Fikr-i-Deoband conference held here on Thursday, the party extended political and moral support to Jihadi groups all over the world.

JUI-I’s provincial convener MNA Maulana Asmatullah presided over the conference which was addressed by Provincial Minister Abdul Khaliq Bashardost, ex-senator Hafiz Fazal Barach, Jamia Binori Town Khatib Qazi M. Rehman and Maulvi Mohammad Hanif.

The conference decided that the JUI-I would take part in the June 10 long march of lawyers and demanded reinstatement of the deposed judges.An statement of Taliban spokesman Commander Maulvi Mehmoodullah Haqyar read out at the conference said the Taliban was determined to defeat occupation forces led by the United States in Afghanistan and re-establish the Taliban government in Kabul.

The statement congratulated the JUI-I for holding the conference to promote the Islamic cause at a time when imperialist forces were present in the region to suppress Islamic movements.
