Lawyers of lower Sindh finalise march plan

SANGHAR, May 27: Lawyers of lower Sindh have finalised their programme to join the long march, which is starting from Multan on June 10th to pressurise the authorities to restore pre-Nov 3, 2007 judiciary and reinstate deposed judges.

In this regard a meeting was held at the district bar association of Sanghar on Tuesday. It was attended by a large number of lawyers from across the province.

Karachi Bar Association President Mehmood-ul-Hassan,

Nawabshah DBA President

Ali Mohammad Dahiri and Mirpurkhas DBA chief Salahuddin Panhwar attended the meeting.

The meeting decided that the long march of Sindh lawyers would commence from Karachi and it would be joined by lawyers from several districts at different places. The lawyers of Sanghar, Shahdadpur, Tando Adam and Khipro will join in the march from Hala.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Mehmood said that they would never accept the ‘minus one’ or ‘minus two formula(s)’. He said lawyers also did not recognise the PCO judges.

He said that from a judicial magistrate to a Supreme Court judge, everyone would become Justice Iftikhar, a symbol of defiance.

Sanghar DBA President Anwar Mehmood Nizamani said that once Justice Chaudhry reassumed his office, lawyers would distance themselves from him.
