Mali excels for Rawalpindi ‘A’

RAWALPINDI, Oct 23: Rawalpindi A thrashed Rawalpindi B 8-3- 1/2 on the second day of the Army Polo championship Tuesday.

Swr. Mali Khan excelled for the A team by putting in four goals with Capt Atif scoring twice and Maj Muhammad Kamran Aslam and Lt. Col Abdul Wahid Khan getting one each.

Brig. Ulfat Hussain was the sole scorer for Rawalpindi B, his goals coming in the third and fourth chukkers as his side finished with 3-1/2, having an advantage of 1-1/2 goal.

In another match, Rawalpindi C squeezed past Bahawalpur Zone 4-3.

Dfd Haq Nawaz dazzled for Pindi striking three times with their fourth being added by GC Shayan Abbasi. Maj. Ahsan Gulrez, who hit the bull’s eye twice and Capt Wajhiullah were the scorers for Bahawalpur.

Wednesday’s fixtures: Bahawalpur Zone v Mangla Zone; Multan Zone v Gujranwala Zone.
