Police asked to check street crime

FAISALABAD, May 31: The District Public Safety Commission (DPSC) has stressed the need for concerted efforts to check growing street crimes, particularly mobile snatching, in the district.

DPSC members, in a meeting held here on Saturday with its chairman Mohsin Chaudhry in the chair, asked the police officials to compile a data of unclaimed properties and apprised the commission of their status on a monthly basis.

They said the commission was mulling to formulate rules and regulations for the auction of such properties and the money recovered as a result would be deposited with the national exchequer.

The meeting also underlined the need to improve different roads and its marking to make the traffic flow better.

DPSC members expressed their satisfaction over the performance of traffic wardens and measures taken by police high-ups to arrest the crime rate.
