Video, music shops blown up in Miramshah

MIRAMSHAH, June 4: Around two dozen video-shops and music centres were blown up in a series of blasts in North Waziristan on Tuesday night.

According to sources, explosive devices planted in three markets in the Zafar town of Miramshah exploded one after the other, rocking the entire town.

Some shop-owners said they had received warnings from militants, ordering them to close their businesses within a week or face consequences.

No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks. Shop-owner Rehmatullah Khan Derpakhel told journalists that the blasts also damaged three arms and ammunition shops. A restaurant was partially damaged.

Reuters adds: Four people were injured by an explosion in a music shop in Kohat.
