HYDERABAD: Hesco workers stage rallies across Sindh
HYDERABAD, June 6: Emplo-yees of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) took out rallies across Sindh cities in protest against price hike, unemployment, terrorism, and lawlessness. They also demanded upgrading cadres of employees on the pattern of clerks.
Employees led by President, Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union, Abdul Latif Nizamani and others took out a rally from the Labour
Hall and after marching on different roads culminated at press club.
Union leaders demanded protected gears for Wapda employees all over the country, 50 per cent increase in salaries, fixation of uniform house rent, and immediate end to privatization of the Utility.
They demanded a notification abolishing Presidential Ordi-nance 2000 and IRO 2002 without delay.
They expressed concern over torture of Wapda employees in interior of Sindh due to loadshedding, although it was a policy matter for which workers were not responsible. They demanded full protection to their workers.
Hesco employees took out rallies in Nawabshah, Khairpur and other parts of Sindh.
