JACOBABAD: Occupation of library condemned
JACOBABAD, June 20: People took out a rally in Thul on Friday to protest against an NGO for occupying a public library.
The rally started from the Municipal Road and, after passing through main roads of the town, reached outside the press club. The protesters were carrying placards.
Speaking on the occasion, Liaquat Sarki, Mazloom Sindhi, Israr Golo and Wahid Bux Sarki said that the people of the town used to read newspapers and books at the Shah Abdul Latif Library but Human Friends Welfare Association officials had occupied the library. They asked the NGO officials to vacate the library and threatened that otherwise protest would continue.
Meanwhile, vaccinators of the Civil Hospital Jacobabad took out a rally here on Friday, demanding regularisation of their services. The rally started from the hospital and, after passing through various roads of the city, culminated in a sit-in at DCO Chowk. The participants were carrying banners and raising slogans.
Pir Bux, Mureed Ahmed and other vaccinators said that they had been working at the hospital for four years and appealed to the authorities to regularise their services.
KIDNAPPING: People took out a rally here on Friday to protest against the kidnapping of five residents of Jacobabad from the Lakhi area in Shikarpur district three weeks ago.
The rally started from Dhangar Mohalla and after passing through different roads reached outside the press club where the participants staged a sit-in.
