THATTA: Rs2.488bn budget for Thatta approved
THATTA, June 30: The district council of Thatta approved Rs2.488 billion annual budget of the district government here on Monday.
Presenting the budget, District Nazim Syed Shafqat Shah Shirazi, said that Rs580.275 million have been allocated for annual development programme which included 462 schemes of roads, 19 of education, 12 of health, 61 schemes of water supply and drainage, while Rs133.870 million have been earmarked for CCB schemes.
The district nazim said that Rs106.079 million have been allocated for education while salary of NCHD feeder teachers have been increased from Rs2,500 to Rs6,000. He said that Rs365.645 million have been allocated to improve health facilities in the district. He said that members of the district council would be sent on inter-provincial visits. The members approved the budget with a majority.
TALUKA BUDGET: The Thatta taluka council Thatta approved budget outlay of Rs162.282 million fot the taluka municipal administration here on Monday.
Taluka Nazim Ada Moha-mmad Memon, while presenting the budget, said that estimated expenditure would be Rs161.644 million while income would be Rs50.222 million while the remaining expenses would be met from grants.
He said that keeping in view the shortage of drinking water in the city, the Sindh government would be moved to provide Rs24 million for water supply scheme.
Our Hyderabad bureau adds: A surplus budget with an outlay of Rs126.218 million of Tando Allahyar Taluka Municipal Administration for 2008-09 was presented on Monday.
Taluka Nazim Khair Mohammad Khokhar presented the document showing a surplus of Rs1.255 million and without new taxes imposed.
An amount of Rs11.266 million had been earmarked for salaries of staff, Rs2.305 million towards miscellaneous expenses of the TMA, Rs1.5 million for payment of loans, Rs500,000 for advances to employees, Rs1million for purchase of generator, Rs35.150 million for development works, Rs1.483 million for ongoing schemes, Rs2 million for repair of roads, Rs783,800 for improvement of water supply, and Rs21.392 for the CCBs.
Nazim Haji Khair Mohammad Khokhar said work on meat and vegetable markets was being carried out by the contractor under self-finance scheme.
The session approved the budget unanimously which was presided over by Convener Taluka Council, Mohammad Shahzad Yousfani.
Our Sanghar bureau adds: Members of Sanghar District Council unanimously passed the Rs3.607 billion surplus budget for 2008-09 here on Monday.
District Nazim Haji Khuda Bux Rajar presented the budget.
He said that according to provincial finance commission, the share of district Sanghar was Rs3,017.064 million but for the welfare of people of the district, they had enhanced the budget estimates.
The total expenditure stood at Rs3,561.293 million showing surplus amount of Rs46.064 million.
The district nazim further said Rs2.40 billion was kept for the salaries of the government employees in the district which were 20 per cent higher than the last year’s budget while for the non-salary related expenditures Rs221 million was set aside.
Giving further details, he said that for development schemes Rs500 million; for new schemes Rs75 million; for Citizens Community Board schemes Rs25 million; for pension etc. Rs44 million; for the share of union councils Rs110 million; for relief works Rs15 million; Rs80 million for medicines, women welfare and workers who died during service; and Rs92 million for SDSSP, education and for health was allocated in the budget.
Sanghar and Khipro taluka councils passed Rs170.222 million and Rs160 million budgets, respectively, on Monday.
