APC warns dist govt of protest
SUKKUR, July 10: An All-Parties Conference on Thursday threatened to launch a protest movement against the district administration and elected representatives if they did not maintain peace, end water and power crisis and stop sale of plots to the builder mafia.
The district-level APC in Sukkur attended by Syed Iqbal Shah Faizi of Jamia Faizul-Uloom, Jameel Sahito and Tahir Hussain Shah of Mahar group, Mehboob Ali Sahito of Sunni Tehrik, Ghulam Mustafa Soomro of JUI, Ghulam Mustafa of JSQM and Shahzado Bhutto of SNF condemned lawlessness and urged district officers not to bow to political pressure.
They urged the district government to take effective measures to maintain law and order and make serious efforts to overcome water and power crisis in the city.
The conference formed a committee and tasked it with launching a joint struggle for the resolution of people’s problems.
ESCAPE: Two of seven most wanted and hardened dacoits captured on Thursday afternoon escaped from police custody when they were being shifted to Ghotki.
Sources in police said that a heavy contingent of police nabbed the most wanted and hardened dacoits, Sadiq Jagirani, Ajoo Lakho, Hafeez Jagirani, Paryal Jagirani, Ahmed Ali, Bux Ali and Sanjar after an encounter near Khan Goth police check-post in the limits of Gemro police station.
Sadiq Jagirani and Ajoo Lakho managed to escape from police custody when they were being shifted to Ghotki, the sources said.
A number of police teams went after the fugitives but no arrest was reported made till the filing this report.
KIDNAP: A group of armed men kidnapped a woman in Shams Din Khoso village in the Thul area late on Wednesday night.
