Saleh cruises into last-32 round at Bangkok

KARACHI, July 10: Pakistan’s Saleh Mohammad overpowered UAE’s Mohammad Al-Joaker to reach the last-32 round of Sangsom 6-Red International Snooker Championship in Bangkok on Thursday.

Saleh, 35, ended his group ‘E’ in great style by overcoming Al-Joaker 5-4 after an exciting tussle to register five wins out of five in his group, according to a message received here.

Saleh was trailing 1-2 against Joaker. But he turned the tables on the UAE cueist with a superb cue control and smart potting. Saleh compiled the break of 63 in the second frame. Earlier, in his penultimate group match, Saleh clawed his way from a 0-3 deficit to defeat world No 21 Stuart Bingham of England 5-4.
