HYDERABAD: Varsity employees on strike

HYDERABAD, July 14: The employees of the Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam continued their strike on Monday, staged a protest sit-in outside the vice-chancellor block and formed a human chain.

A heavy contingent of police was deployed on the university premises.

Speaking on the occasion the protesters said that their movement would continue till the removal of the vice-chancellor.

The PRO of the university said in a statement that the employees were defaming the university and accused some elements of blackmailing the poor employees into joining the strike.

The PRO said the union leaders have crossed all limits of morality.

He claimed that only a few years ago, the university could not pay even its electricity bills but now it was standing on its own feet and the admissions had increased by 400 per cent.

The executive body of the Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association at a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Dr Ameer Bux Kalhoro has condemned the misbehaviour of the union leader with the dean of the Faculty of Animals Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences and a member of the university syndicate.

The meeting demanded of the university administration to take strict action against the union leader.

RESULTS: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, has announced the result of B.Com (pass) part-I annual examinations 2007.
