DADU: Two men shot dead in Dadu
DADU, May 5: A landlord and his friend were shot dead by four unidentified robbers in Kamalpur village, near Thariri Mohabbat town, on Saturday night.
The landlord, Hamid Ali Dahar, 33, and his friend, Nazeer Ahmed, 40, were going to Ahmed Khan Chandio village from Mehar town on a motorcycle.
The robbers stopped their motorcycle and robbed them of Rs1,000, gold rings and the motorcycle.
The robbers shot dead the landlord and his friend when they offered resistance and escaped with the loot to the kuchha area on the snatched motorcycle.
Receiving the information, the relatives of Hamid Dahar and Nazeer Ahmed rushed to the spot and took both the bodies.
They staged a demonstration and blocked Dadu-Mehar Indus Highway near Mehar town.
The demonstrators were demanding the arrest of the killer.
On the assurance of the district police officer, Dadu, Mohammad Tahir Naveed, who arrived on the spot, that the robbers would be arrested soon, the demonstrators ended their protest.
On the complaint of Hakim Ali Dahar, the brother of deceased Hamid Dahar, the Thariri Mohabbat police registered an FIR against the four unidentified robbers.
HUNGER STRIKE: A large number of workers of political parties and social welfare organizations and citizens observed a token hunger strike outside Dadu Press Club on Sunday against the SDO, Hesco, Dadu-I sub-division, line superintendent and other staff.
They demanded the release of the two citizens, Ghulam Ali Mallah and Roshan Mallah, who were arrested by the Dadu police on the complaint of the Hesco officials.
