Indian reports about LoC clash rejected

SRINAGAR, July 30: Pakistan on Wednesday rejected reports that a firing incident had taken place in occupied Kashmir involving Indian and Pakistani troops.

The denial by chief military spokesman Gen Athar Abbas came after Indian military alleged on Wednesday that Pakistani troops had again violated the ceasefire in occupied Kashmir.

The Pakistanis opened fire just before noon but Indian forces did not shoot back, claimed Indian army spokesman Lt-Col Anil Kumar Mathur. However, Gen Abbas said the military had looked into the reports and found that “no incident of firing has taken place.”—Agencies
