KARACHI: SSC marks sheets collection schedule

KARACHI, Aug 5: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi on Tuesday announced that marks sheets pertaining to SSC Part-II (Class X) Science group annual examination-2008 would be ready for collection from Aug 9 to 12 onwards.

All recognised secondary schools have been asked to follow the town-wise schedule of collection of marks sheets given below:

Secondary schools of New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Liaquatabad, Jamshed, Gulshan, and Shah Faisal towns could collect the marks sheets of their respective students on August 9. Schools situated in Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Bin Qasim and Gadap towns could collect the marks sheets on August 11. For schools in Keamari, Site, Baldia, Orangi, Lyari and Saddar towns August 12 has been fixed as the collection date.

Heads of all the recognised secondary schools have been requested to send their representatives with authority letters to collect the marks sheets from the Conference Hall, Block ‘B’ of the board between 9:30am to 4pm.

KU’s essay contest

The University of Karachi is conducting a bilingual essay competition. The topic of the essay is “Challenges of the 21st century for the Muslim Ummah”.

This was announced by a spokesman for the KU on Tuesday.

He said that the contest was being held on the directives of the vice-chancellor, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui.

It will be held under the auspices of the Karachi University’s office of students’ adviser.

Those wishing to participate have been asked to submit their essays at the office of the students’ adviser by Aug 15 through the chairpersons of their respective departments.

Seminar

The Department of Sindhi, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUAAST) will hold a seminar on “Karachi through centuries” on Aug 7.

According to a FUUAST announcement, the seminar will be presided over by the vice-chancellor of the FUUAST, Dr Mohammad Qaisar, while Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Sassui Palejo will be the chief guest.—PPI/APP
