Champions League to be rescheduled

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Organisers of the multi-million dollar Twenty20 Champions League due to start in September will review its scheduling following objections by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the governing body said in a statement.

The India, Australia and South Africa cricket boards told the ICC executive board they would reconsider if they could change the dates for the Sept 29-Oct 8 event, after a meeting of top administrators discussed the issue, it said.

The boards have agreed to give their response in a week.

The ICC raised objections because the league, involving many international players, starts on the reserve day for the final of the ICC Champions Trophy, to be staged in Pakistan.
