DADU: Qalandar’s Urs to begin from 21st
DADU, Aug 16: The three-day 756th annual Urs of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz will begin on August 21 in Sehwan. The devotees of Lal Shahbaz have started reaching at the Dargah from different parts of the country and different stalls were being installed in the city.
DIG Police Hyderabad range Sanaullah Abbasi held a meeting at Sehwan with the police officers on Saturday. After the meeting, Mr Sanaullah Abbasi told journalists that strict orders have been issued to police to take action against anti-social activities, narcotics and gambling dens during the Urs of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz.
He said that 200 police officials would be deployed at Aral wah which originates from Manchhar lake to stop bathing in the Wah.
He said that section-144 has been imposed on bathing in Aral canal because many people had lost their lives during swimming in Aral Wah canal on the occasion of the annual Urs.
He said that to streamline traffic system, one SP traffic would be posted. DPO Jamshoro, Farrukh Bashir and other police officials attended the meeting.
The district nazim, Malik Asad Sikandar and naib nazim Abdul Hameed Buledi also visited different parts of the city. He directed the officials of Auqaf and works and services departments to ensure all possible facilities to the devotees.
Meanwhile, local singers took out a protest rally from Haque Shahbaz Musical club to Sehwan press club for not inviting them in the musical show of annual Urs of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz.
The protesters included Ajiz Anwar, Niaz Mallah, Mohammad Bachal Solangi, Dil Jan, Anwar Hajano and Ghulam Haider Bughio.
Talking to journalists on the occasion, Mohammad Bachal Solangi said that local administration of Mela committee of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz has completely ignored the local singers of Sehwan in Musical show. He said that if the local singers were not invited in the show they would continue their protest.
PROTEST: The relatives of kidnapped bank officials of MCB Khairpur Nathan Shah branch, Fazal Rabi Shaikh and Abid Abro, who were kidnapped from Mehar-Khairpur Nathan Shah bypass about 25 days back, took out a rally against the inordinate delay in the recovery of kidnapped bank officials. They were led by Haji Mohammad Shaikh and Suleman Abro. Speaking on the occasion, Haji Mohammad Shaikh said that Dadu police were not making efforts in the recovery of the kidnapped bank officials and was not cooperating with them.
He apprehended that if the police continued to adopt delaying tactics, the bandits may kill the kidnapped officials.
ELECTROCUTED: One Mohammad Bux Memon 40, was electrocuted in Manjhand town on Saturday when he touched a 11 KV live wire.
SUICIDE: Mohammad Bachal Haloo 25, committed suicide by consuming pesticide over a matrimonial dispute in Umid Buriro village on Saturday. Mohammad Bachal Haloo wanted to marry a girl of his own choice but on his father’s refusal, he committed suicide.
JOURNALISTS PROTEST: Local journalists observed token hunger strike outside Dadu press club on Saturday against the inordinate delay in the arrest of nominated accused in the murder of TV journalist, Mohammad Azim Leghari.
Earlier, journalists took out a protest rally and staged demonstration outside the press club.
