ISLAMABAD, Aug 29: Vaidik Munshaw (India) lifted the boys singles title of ITF Pakistan International Junior Tennis Championship played at the PTF complex on Friday. Fourth seeded Munshaw defeated Ariez Elyaas Deen (Malaysia) in straight sets 6-2-6-1.

Munshaw, in the first set, build up the lead 4-0 by breaking second and fourth game of Deen in which he made three double faults. Munshaw played superbly throughout the set with his mix shots. The Indian played good serve volley and a number of times forced the Malaysian to make unforced errors. He won the first set at 6-2. Munshaw kept the pressure even in the second set and took the lead 3-0 by breaking second game of Deen. Munshaw won the second set 6-1 by breaking sixth game of Deen. Munshaw got 30 ITF ranking points after winning the final of the event while Deen got 20 points. In the girls singles event Luksika Kumkhum (Thailand) won her third singles title of the event eliminating Carol Augustine-Benito (Spain) in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

Kumkhum demolished Benito with her powerful forehand and double handed cross court and down the line winners.

Munshaw and Abhishek (India) hammered compatriot Kapur Shikhar and Anand Kunal in one sided boys doubles final winning 6-1,6-1. Munshaw won the double crown by winning this title.

Thai pair, Kumkhum and Peeraya, annexed the girls doubles title beating Rajani Saadgi and Manjunath Shalaka (India) in straight sets 6-1,6-2. This was the sixth title of Kumkhum in three tournaments.

A total number of 125 players from 12 countries- India, Thailand, China, Egypt, Malaysia, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Australia, Spain, Indonesia, United Kingdom and host Pakistan participated in the boys and girls singles and doubles events in three ITF tournaments.

The current junior tournaments helped Pakistani players to improve their ITF Rankings.
