LARKANA: Fertiliser to be imported to end crisis

LARKANA, Sept 1: The district government has taken measures to meet the demand of urea fertiliser through imported stuff. The District Coordination Officer Larkana Abdul Aziz Uqaili said this while visiting the Fertiliser Distribution Cell established at Mukhtiarkar office Larkana, and the centre of Sindh Small Industries Estate Larkana. He said, so far, the demand received at Mukhtiarkar Office from four Talukas was around 30,000 bags adding around 7,000 bags of imported urea have already reached Larkana. The district administration was closely monitoring and regulating fertiliser distribution through these points with an assurance the imported stuff was sold @635/- per bag through the Utility Stores Corporation.

District Coordination Officer Larkana Abdul Aziz Uqaili called for joint efforts of teachers, parents, elected representatives of people and members of civil society to get enrolled their children in schools from Sept 1-8.

He stressed on cent per cent enrolment of children in schools and asked the education officers to pay surprise visits for ensuring the presence of teachers. He said diligent teachers would be rewarded while unwilling would face action.
