DADU: Woman under threat allowed to live with parents

DADU, Sept 9: A woman, whose killing has been ordered by a jirga, was produced by police before the second civil judge and judicial magistrate of Sehwan on Tuesday.

Ms Waziran Rind escaped from her house in Jalib Rind village, Sehwan taluka, to save her life after a jirga declared her kari and ordered her killing on Monday.

She took asylum at her father’s house in Rind village and was provided protection by Bhan Syedabad police after reports about the jirga were telecast by a private TV channel.

The Bhan Syedabad police produced her in the court where she said in an application that she feared that she would be killed on the pretext of karo-kari. She said that she wanted to live with her father.

The court directed the police to hand over Waziran to her parents.
