Compassion is above everything

JACOBABAD, Sept 12: Hindu and Muslim protesters took out a procession in Garhi Khairo on Friday to protest against the kidnapping of a Hindu trader, his six-year-old grandson and the driver of the taxi they were travelling in on Thursday.

Protesters after marching on different roads reached at Punj Gulli Chowk where they blocked the road leading to Balochistan, suspending vehicular traffic.

SPO Garhi Khairo, Mushtaq Khoso with a police contingent reached the spot and tried to convince protesters to clear the road but they refused.

Later Jacobabad District Police Officer Saqib Ismail Memon reached there and assured protesters of recovery of kidnap victims on which they dispersed.

Meanwhile, shutter down strike was observed on the second day in Garhi Khairo against the kidnapping of trader Nirmal Das, his six-year-old grandson Ritik and taxi driver Razzaq Babhar in the Dodapur area by three armed men.

President Hindu Panchayat Ramesh Lal told Dawn that DPO disclosed the names of suspected criminals as Barkat Dhahani, Salahuddin Dhahani and Jummo Hajigo who will soon be arrested.

Earlier, a man Santosh Kumar was kidnapped in 2006 but recovered after few months and this was the second incident of kidnapping after that.
