DPO sacks four policemen

ATTOCK, Sept 13: District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Wisal Fakhar has dismissed four police officials from their service, besides awarding punishment to as many officials for misconduct and showing negligence in their duties.

According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the DPO dismissed Head Constable Mubashir Tajumal and constables Zafar and Orangzaib for remaining absent from the duty for a long time and not responding to frequent notices and reminders.

The DPO has also dismissed constable Ghulam Zameer for his involvement in wheat flour smuggling.

Moreover, one year increment of two head constables Saghawat and Muhammad Ameer and constable/driver Rehmat has been stopped for misconduct and showing negligence in their duties.

The DPO also demoted Sub-Inspector (SI) Saghawat to ASI for disobedience.

Meanwhile, the DPO restored suspended police officials, including SI Muhammad Sher and five constables, temporarily on the condition of improving their performance.

The DPO has directed the all SDPOs and SHOs to remain vigilant in their areas and intensify patrolling, particularly during the timing of Taraveeh prayers, to avoid any untoward incident during holy month of Ramzan and keep strict check on the anti-social elements to ensure protection of life and property of citizens.

The police have also claimed that they had arrested the robbers involved in three various incidents and submitted challans against them in the courts. As many as 12 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes such as kidnapping for ransom and14 court absconders and two military deserters have been also been arrested, the police said.

The police have also recovered four stolen vehicles and other items, including transformers and electricity lines, worth Rs5.2 million. The police also recovered 15 Kalashnikovs, 12 rifles, 154 pistols, a carbine, 40 magazines, 3,753 bullets, four draggers, 12.7kg hashish, 500-gram heroin, 120gram opium and 412 bottles liquor from the possession of outlaws in the last month.

SHOs APPOINTED: Inspector Hafiz Abdul Rafique has been appointed SHO police station Injra, while Inspector Ghulam Shabeer has been appointed SHO New Airport police station Fatehjang and Inspector Muhammad Khalid SHO Attock Khurd police station.
