DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Woman killed, seven injured in explosion

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sept 17: A woman was killed and her four children and three neighbours were injured when two houses were blown up in the Cantonment police area on Wednesday.

The accused had concealed an explosive device in a cycle rickshaw and parked it near the house of Mohammad Sadiq in a narrow street in Nobel Town, Eidgah Kalan. The explosive device went off, destroying the house of Mr Sadiq and another house. Six other houses were also partially damaged.

The deceased was identified as Khurshid Bibi, wife of Mr Sadiq. Her two sons Mohammad Ramazan and Zeshan and two daughters Naila Bibi and Saman Bibi were injured. Three neighbours, Mr Ali, Ihsanullah and Imtiaz, were also injured.

Enraged residents blocked the main road near the Gomal Medical College after the incident. However, the road was opened on intervention of City DSP Sanaullah Khan.

Police have registered a FIR.
