Turkey, Russia sign deal

ANKARA, Sept 19: Turkey and Russia have signed a deal to resolve a row over Russian customs that have hit Turkish exports, a minister was quoted by the Anatolia news agency as saying on Friday.

“With this protocol, the customs crisis between Turkey and Russia has been resolved in a reasonable way,” Deputy Prime Minister Hayati Yazici told a press conference here.

The protocol, signed late on Thursday, envisages a new procedure to speed up the passage of Turkish goods through Russian customs, he said.

It will apply to companies who agree to send information on their exports to Russian authorities in advance, he explained.—AFP
