Long jumper quits

BERLIN, Sept 27: German long jumper Kofi Amoah Prah has retired after receiving a two-year ban for cocaine use.

Prah, who finished fifth at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, tested positive on July 5 at the German championship, the national athletics federation said on Friday.

The notification of his suspension was delayed because the long jumper failed to pick up his registered mail from the post office, the federation said.—AP
