Public schools’ facilities being improved: Riaz
LAHORE, Sept 28: Senior Minister Raja Riaz has said the government had launched a Rs112.41 billion programme for restoring the confidence of the people in its schools by improving standard of education and infrastructure facilities.
Speaking at an educational workshop here on Sunday, he said the programme was aimed at improvement of educational atmosphere at the government schools.
He said computer labs were being set up in 4,574 secondary and higher secondary schools at a cost of Rs5 billion. The government had also allocated Rs2.5 billion for providing missing facilities at schools, while another billion rupees had been made available to upgrade schools on need basis.
He said as many as 560 girls' middle schools were being upgraded to secondary level at a cost of Rs2 billion. Another Rs1.91 billion had been earmarked for upgrade of 542 boys' schools, he added.
