Police clueless about driver’s kidnappers

SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 30: Police could not find clue to the taxi driver who had allegedly been kidnapped three days back.

Family members told Shahdara police that an anonymous caller had demanded Rs500,000 as ransom for the release of Saeed Abid.

They urged police to make efforts to recover Saeed Abid as the family could not arrange the amount due to poverty.

Four people in the guise of passengers hired Saeed's cab for Faisalabad three days back and kidnapped him.

SECURITY: The district police have taken tight security measures to avert any untoward incident on Eid.

District Police Officer Zaeem Iqbal on Tuesday said law enforcers would perform their duties round the clock and at Eid congregations.

The DPO asked the general public to extend cooperation to the police to maintain law and order.
