HYDERABAD: SUP plans protest

HYDERABAD, Oct 7: The Sindh United Party said on Tuesday it would observe province-wide hunger strikes on Wednesday in protest against the proposed privatisation of Qadirpur gas field and other anti-Sindh measures.

In a faxed statement, a spokesman for the party said that despite strong opposition from the people of Sindh, the government had still not withdrawn its decision to sell the gas field.

He said that the government was duty bound to inform people about its compulsions. Sindh had always been made a scapegoat but the party no more tolerate any excesses against the province, he said.
