Anti-polio drive begins in Sukkur

SUKKUR, Oct 11: Like other parts of the province, the health department of Sukkur launched a three-day anti-polio drive here on Saturday.

Around 211,755 children up to five years will be administered polio vaccines by utiltising the services of 635 polio teams during the anti-polio campaign.

MPA Dr Nasrullah Baloch formally inaugurated the drive by administering polio drops to children up to five years at the Government Anwer Piracha Hospital Sukkur.

Speaking on the occasion, he advised people to cooperate with the polio teams during their door-to-door visits and get their children vaccinated against polio. Executive District Officer (Health) Sukkur Dr Tariq Abbas Dareshani briefed the MPA that the required vaccine was readily available for the purpose.

TRAINING: A two-day training programme for nazims and naib nazims is being organized from Oct 13 by the Institute of Business Administration in coordination with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Planning & Development Department, government of Sindh at IBA Sukkur.
