Houses of militants destroyed in Bajaur

KHAR, Oct 16: Security forces and a tribal lashkar destroyed houses of militant commanders and their local supporters in Khar and Charmang areas of the Bajaur tribal region on Thursday.

According to reports received here, troops pounded Taliban positions in Tang Khatta, Rashakai and others areas. No casualties were reported.

Planes bombed several areas in Charmang and Chinar, where local tribes have raised a lashkar. Unconfirmed reports said that seven militants had been killed in the air strike.

Troops destroyed houses of two Taliban commanders in Inayet Kaley area while the lashkar of Charmang tribesmen set on fire houses of a number of insurgents.

In the same locality, militants blew up houses of two Levies’ personnel on late Wednesday night.

Witnesses said the houses of Toor Khan and his brother Nawabzada were attacked by about 20 militants who also looted all belongings.

Meanwhile, all educational institutions opened in Khar, Utmankhel and Salarzai sub-divisions.

Schools in other four sub-divisions of the troubled region remain closed because of continuing violence and military operation.
