Students’ rally slams US air strikes

SUKKUR, Oct 20: Activists of Islami Jamiat Tulaba took out a protest rally on Monday against the US air strikes planes in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

The rally started from Islamia College and marching through main streets of the city reached the Sukkur Press Club.

The participants were chanting slogans against the US and the Nato forces.

They later marched to clock tower, where after registering their protest, they dispersed peacefully.

The general secretary of the Islami Jamiat Talaba, Sindh, Aasim Shaikh, and Nazim Jamiat Talaba Sukkur Division Ahmed Khan led the rally.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders alleged that the US was involved in suicide attacks in Pakistan as well as lawlessness in the country.

“Our own people are being killed due to bombardment in tribal areas,” they said. They urged the government to adopt a strict stance over the matter.

Moulana Hizbullah Jakhro, a leader of the Sukkur chapter of the Jamaat-i-Islami, demanded of the government to condemn the US and its allies at the diplomatic level and to retaliate against the violation of Pakistani borders.
