Chenab water dialogue inconclusive

NEW DELHI, Oct 24: Talks between Pakistan and India on the reduction of Chenab water flow remained inconclusive on Friday.

After the two-day meeting, Indus Water Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah told journalists that Pakistan had presented its point of view on water reduction at Head Marala and loss of 0.2 million acre feet of water but differences remained.

Both sides exchanged information on the issue during the talks. India will collect more data on the reduction of water flow due to filling of Baglihar dam.

Mr Shah said the process of talks would continue.

He said Indian Water Commissioner G. Ranganathan would soon visit Head Marala in Pakistan to ascertain the level of water flow.— APP
