HYDERABAD: PPP has failed to deliver: PTI

HYDERABAD, Oct 29: The Pakistan Peoples’ Party is the largest political party with its leadership and workers paying heavy price for democracy, yet it has failed to come up to the expectations of masses, said Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf leader Mohammad Zubair Khan. The party came into power after a thumping majority, he added.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Monday, he said that over 90 per cent of PPP workers were dissatisfied with the performance of the government.

He reminded the MNAs and MPAs of PPP that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives but did not surrender to dictators. Benazir, even after the Karsaz incident toured the country and lost her life, the PTI leader said. He reminded the PPP legislators to keep in mind the mission to work for the benefit of people.

He regretted that even the PML-N had not performed its due role as the main opposition party adding that it was a “Noora Kushti” between the PPP and the PML-N. He likened the PPP leadership to that of the PML-Q and warned against meeting the same fate in next general elections.

He regretted the role PPP played in the reinstatement of superior court judges and said that the rulers were following the minus one policy of Pervez Musharraf. He said that the PTI believed in justice and independence of judiciary and will continue to struggle for the restoration of pre-November 3 judiciary.

He said that his party will stage protest demonstrations throughout the province for restoration of pre-November 3 judiciary and against minus one formula.

THREAT: The Sindh Education Task Force of Pakistan Human Rights Development Organisation (PHRDO) has threatened to launch protest movement throughout Sindh if candidates obtaining 60 per cent and more marks in the IBA test for appointment of teachers were not given offer letters.

President PHRDO and Chief Coordinator Sindh Education Task Force, Ghulam Hyder Arain said that the Sindh government had announced that candidates obtaining 60 per cent or more in the IBA test held last year will be appointed as teachers according to the World Bank policy. He was speaking to journalists at the press club on Tuesday.

He said the majority of candidates qualifying the test were given offer letters while hundreds of candidates of Hyderabad district were yet to get these.
