KARACHI, Oct 31: Four ships including a rice loader are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where seven ships, Elenit to load cement, Kota Perdana, APL Yokohama to unload and load containers, Hadrian, Lady Sea and Union Carrier to unload and load general cargo and Cosmos Sun, an oil tanker, were berthed on Friday.

Five ships, Bunga Teratai Dua, Hanjin Chittagong, Lalazar, Chopol-2 and Kingston departed on Friday, while X-Press, Abrar and Union Carrier are expected to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow where a total tonnage fell to 89,070 tons from the previous 122,000 tons comprising 43,789 tons of export cargo including 2,613 tons of rice and 3,943 tons of cement and 45,281 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Q.S.M. Dubai to load 14,000 tons of rice, Carpiole with chemicals, H.H. Tide and Ninos with containers.
