BD dismisses Indian charges over Assam serial blasts

DHAKA, Nov 1: Bangladesh has dismissed Indian media’s claim that a Bangladeshi group was involved in Thursday’s serial blasts in Assam that left 77 people dead.

“The allegation is totally baseless and, as in the past, has no evidence to back it up,” the foreign ministry said on Saturday.

Indian media have alleged that Bangladesh-based banned Islamist organisations were involved in the blasts.

Lal Kishan Advani, The Bharatiya Janata Party leader, also pointed finger at Bangladesh for the explosions.

But the Bangladesh foreign affairs ministry said the country had adopted “the strictest measures against terrorists and it would never allow its territory to be used to facilitate attacks on other countries”.
