LARKANA: Mashaikh condemn suicide attacks

LARKANA, Nov 2: A conference of the Jamiat-i-Mashaikh Ahl-i-Sunnat has termed suicide attacks un-Islamic and also condemned incidents of terrorism in the country.

The conference, attended by over 100 representatives of shrines from across the country, was held amid tight security in Mashoori village, 13 kilometres off here on Sunday. It also discussed the issue of terrorism in detail.

Haji Shafi Mohammed Mashori and Haifz Manzoor Mashori, the caretaker of the Mashori shrine, hosted the conference.

While terming suicide attacks un-Islamic, it condemned the incidents of terrorism. Vehemently flaying the US air strikes in tribal areas of Pakistan, they sought an immediate end to such attacks which was causing loss of human lives.

The conference called for arrest of the culprits involved in the Nishtar Park blast and demanded that they be brought to justice.

In a resolution, the conference regretted over increasing un-Islamic activities at the shrines in Sindh in the name of festivals and urged the government to check such intolerable activities and warned that the Jamiat-i- Mashaikh Ahl-i- Sunnat would launch a protest drive.

They said it was our religious and moral duty to preach love and Islamic values and bury hatred. The conference decided to launch a country-wide campaign to strengthen the network of the organisation.

Later, provincial heads of Jamiat-i- Mashaikh Ahl-i-Sunnat were nominated.

They include Pir Syed Ghulam Rizvani (Sindh), Khalid Sultan, Gadi Nasheen of the shrine of Sultan Baho (Punjab), Pir Bahadur Shah of Sibi (Balochistan) and Pir Syed Tanveer Gillani (Azad Jummu and Kashmir and Northern Areas).

Mian Aijaz Ahmed from the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh, Sarwat Aijaz Qadri of Sunni Tehrik and other ulema and caretakers of different shrines attended the conference.
