More aftershocks likely in quake-hit areas

ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: There is a probability of more aftershocks striking Balochistan’s quake-hit areas over the next “four or five days”, says Director-General of the Pakistan Meteorological Department Qamaruz Zaman Chaudhry.

He told PTV on Sunday that the affected areas had been hit by nine aftershocks, with an intensity of 3 to 4 on the Richter scale, since Saturday.

The area, he said, had suffered about 100 aftershocks, adding that the frequency of tremors would gradually decrease.

The weather in quake-hit areas would remain dry and cold on Monday, he said.—APP
