Ten held over UC nazim’s murder

SUKKUR, Nov 15: Police on Saturday arrested 10 suspects after a raid on Janwari village early on Saturday, following murder a day ago of Awam Dost nazim of union council Patni in the limits of Kandhra police limits near here.

Unknown attackers shot dead UC nazim Patni Lashkari Shaikh on Friday morning when he was visiting his agricultural lands near Kandhra.

Police had moved the body to Kandhra hospital for post mortem and lodged an FIR on the complaint of Shaikh’s son Badar Shaikh against seven Janwari clansmen including Abdul Karim, Abdul Rasheed, Asghar Ali, Muneer Ahmed, Allah Jurio and two unknown man.

A heavy contingent of police raided Janwari village, conducted house-to-house search and arrested 10 suspects, but failed to arrest any accused nominated in the FIR.

ROBBED: Passengers of a Quetta-bound coach were robbed by the group of bandits on the National Highway in the limits of Humayoon police station near Shikarpur early on Saturday.

Reports reaching here said that when the coach reached Humayoon, a group of bandits overpowered the driver and passengers at gunpoint and robbed them of cash, gold ornaments, mobile phones and other valuable belongings.
